Princess
Märtha Louise was born on September 22st, 1971 in Oslo. She is the first
child of King Harald and Queen Sonja of Norway.
The Princess grew up in Oslo and was educated at the Kristelig Gymnasium in Oslo, where she graduated in 1990. She studied English literature at Oxfortd University and physiotherapy in Oslo, which she finished with an internship in Maastricht (The Netherlands).
Märtha Louise was named after her grandmother, Princess Märtha (wife of King Olav) and her great grandmother, Queen Louise of Denmark (The mother of King Haakon, father of King Olav).
The princess is very fond of riding, also likes outdoor sports, music and folk dancing. On December 13th, 2001 she got engaged to Ari Michael Behn, writer and television producer. As of February 1st, 2002 she dropped her royal title (Her Royal Highness) in order to live a normal life and pay taxes.
