HoneymoonFebruary 6th, 2002: Honeymoon in Switzerland

Prince Willem-Alexander and Princess Máxima are spending their first week as a married couple in St. Moritz in Switzerland. The couple is staying at the villa of the late Freddy Heineken. Today the couple posed for photographers and even a camera team (from the Dutch broadcasting company SBS 6). The couple looked relaxed and in love on the snowy slopes.
The couple is expected to stay in St. Moritz for at least the rest of the week.

January 26th, 2002: Private festivitiesAt Madurodam

Today and tomorrow bride and groom are celebrating with friends and family. Today the couple visited Madurodam. In the evening a gala was held at Palace Noordeinde. Tomorrow the couple will lunch at the Kurhaus in Scheveningen.

January 25th, 2002: Government Dinner in The Hague

Government DinerThis evening marked the official start of the festivities for bride and groom. Dutch government offered the couple a dinner at the Ridderzaal. Also present were Máxima's brothers and sister: Martín (with his wife Mariana), Juan and Inés.

January 22nd, 2002: Chat session possibly sabotaged

According to Dutch news the chat session with the couple organized today was possibly sabotaged. The website went blank after only five minutes.

January 18th, 2002: Interview on Dutch Television

Today NOS broadcasted the first official interview with the couple. The interview lasted about an hour and took place at Palace Huis ten Bosch and Castle Drakensteijn in Lage Vuursche. The couple was very open on how they met and deepened their relationship, the marriage, Argentina and the Videla regime, what kind of king and queen they would like to be and their different religions.

BalletJanuary 10th, 2002: Ballet gift from the National Dans Theater

The National Dans Theater gave the bridal couple two ballets as a wedding gift today. The ballet was attended by several members of the Royal Family, including Queen Beatrix and Prince Claus. Afterwards the bridal couple thanked the dansers and the National Dans Theater.

January 9th, 2002: Receiving the first gifts, Publication of the banns

Receiving a crownToday Willem-Alexander and Máxima received their first gifts: a crown given by the winner of the competition ' ironworking for Willem-Alexander and Máxima' and the first of the official wedding stamps. It also became known that the couple had the publication of the banns today.
