8th, 2001 - Today CrownPrince Naruhito of Japan and his wife
Princess Masako took home their baby daughter Aiko.
Aiko was born at the Imperial Hospital on December 1st, 2001. She was given a name yesterday, picked by her grandfather, Emperor Akihito.
Japan has reacted very positive, although people has hoped for a boy. Aiko will not be able to rule the empire according to the present law.
