Cristina gives birth to Pablo

Iñaki holds the champagne after Pablo is bornDecember 6th, 2000 - Infanta Cristina of Spain gave birth to her second child at 22.50u today. The baby, a boy, is in excellent health, weights 3.800 kg and is 54,5 cm long.

Pablo Nicolás Urdangarín de Borbón was born at the Clinica Teknon in Barcelona. Cristina was assisted by the team of doctor Manuel García Valdecasas, who also assisted her during the birth of Juan Valentín. According to doctor Valdecasas, the birth was rapid and normal. Also Iñaki Urdangarín took an active part in the delivery, even physically helping the baby to be born.

Iñaki Urdangarín told the press the boy has been named Pablo in honour of Cristina's maternal grandfather and Nicolás because he was born on the day of St.Nicolas. He also told that he and Cristina had not yet decided on when the christening will take place and who the godparents will be. When Pablo will be presented to the media is yet unknown, but it will most likely take place on Saturday.
